Do Giraffe’s Make Sound?

Cows go moo, pigs go oink, and dogs go roof, duh.

But does anyone really know what sound giraffes make?

I, as the owner of a blog that is named after giraffes, find it insulting that these beautiful creatures do not receive the attention they deserve.

If you already know the sounds they make, then you’re one step ahead of everyone else. But if this topic didn’t even come across your mind until now, then you shall be educated 🙂

Either way, I’m going to try my best to describe these intricate sound machines they call –  giraffes.

Previously, most people thought that giraffes either made noises that were too quiet for the human ear, or just didn’t make noise at all. This might have been because their long necks do not allow easy passage of air for sound.

However, scientists have discovered that giraffes do make noise – at night. It’s a humming sound. This is said to be used between the animals for communication. Pretty cool, right?

As of now, I declare the sound of the giraffe as hmm.

If you want to learn more about this or are interested at all, I recommend checking out these websites:

Thank you for bearing though this somewhat informative post, I do appreciate it.

At least now when someone asks you what sound a giraffe makes, you can totally show them up with all of your knowledge. Now that’s pretty sweet.
